BELhospice organised a donors’ dinner in the Zira Hotel
on 9 December. The event highlighted the
palliative care needs of terminally ill
cancer patients and raised vital funds
to support BELhospice's care for these
patients.
Dr. Natasa Milicevic, BELhospice's director, expressed
her gratitude to the assembled guests
who had offered their support. She
emphasized that BELhospice has been in
existence for
over six
years and has
succeeded in
helping hundreds of patients, providing them with
desperately needed palliative care.
BELhospice has also overcome many difficulties and
struggles on the way, through the help
and donations of numerous individuals
and companies. These supporters
recognize the significance of such an
organisation for terminally ill
patients.

The evening’s guest of honour was the famous Serbian
actress and singer Ana Sofrenovic. After
singing several compelling songs she
read out an emotional letter
from the family of a recently deceased patient addressed
to BELhospice. This patient was cared
for by BELhospice's home care team and
the family decided to express their
gratitude through this letter, along
with a donation to BELhospice.

After the dinner Mr. Graham Perolls, Executive Director
of Hospices of Hope, presented a very
special auction item. He described how
Archduke Dominic von Habsburg became
interested in Serbia and BELhospice and
decided to support this event and the
palliative care of cancer patients in
Serbia through the donation of this
item. The auction item in question was a
very special dinner in Bran Castle,
belonging to the Archduke.
The donors’ dinner was supported by HE Ann Pesic, Consul
of the Republic of Ireland in Serbia, as
well as a number of individuals and
companies including: ACB,
GlaxoSmithKline, Jugohemija, EFT, Alfa
Laval. |
