World Hospice and
Palliative Care Day

Belgrade 11th October 2008.

BELhospice organised a cele-bration on 11th October to mark World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, at the Republic Squae in Be- lgrade. This day was celebrated in Serbia, as well as in more than 80 countries around the world, under the banner:

"Hospice and palliative care

- a human right"

This celebration was supported by Belgrade’s Municipal "Stari grad", where the event took place, and it was covered by media representatives. The main goal for the celebration was to introduce the concept of palliative care to the Serbian public, and to get them to understand more easily what the purpose of palliative care and how significant it is for patients with a life limiting illnesses.

Employees and numerous friends of "BELhospice" were pre- sent at the celebration, expre- ssing their support to BELhospice, and informing people about hospices and palliative care.
